The Tao Te Ching!

Tao te Ching is a 2600 years old book written by Lao Tzu. Tao in ancient Chinese means 'the way', te means 'the shape and the power', ching as 'book'. He was one of the wisest man ever walked this earth and his sayings are still applicable to our 'modern' lives.

As I happen to read 'change your thoughts and change your life' by Dr. Wayne Dyer. I got motivated and inspired to write my own interpretation of the first verse of Lao Tzu and link to the modern life.

The first verse states:

"The Tao that can be told is not the eternal Tao.
The name that can be named is not the eternal name.
The Tao is both named and nameless. As nameless it is the origin of all things;
As named it is the mother of 10,000 things.
Ever desireless, one can see the mystery;
Ever desiring, one sees only the manifestations.
And the mystery itself is the doorway to all understanding."

Here, this can be interpreted as the way which is told is not the eternal way. There is no eternal way or there is nothing eternal in life. We label each and everything in life. But those labels are temporary too. Even if we name, it means different to everyone. The way or the path in life can be named as well as nameless.

If one choses a particular way to reach a defined destination and assume that, it is the only way to reach, then it isn't the truth.

It is a paradoxical thinking but applies to our modern thinking.As we are in the habit of presuming the outcomes of situations in which we are living or we haven't entered, serves us no purpose.

We must learn to let things take its due course as our worrying, labelling turns into futile and everything has a divine order.

When we are desiring we are creating an endless list but it holds no power until we act, simply desiring brings us nothing but our actions to achieve it fulfils our desires.

When we are desireless we are allowing things to happen for us and to unravel the unknown freely. We release the need to comprehend and control.

We must understand that we can gain nothing out of worrying, assuming or comprehending because the only gateway to understanding is mystery.

Let the mystery be, do what you can in that minute and let God take care of the rest.

The real living is enjoying the mystery of life.

Lao Tzu's verse beautifully teaches us to live and enjoy mystery. Let go and let God. You have to let go of the habit of judging, labelling and controlling. As you learn to enjoy mystery life becomes easy and simple. Let the simplicity flow into your life and live the bliss, that life is!
